Real as can be

I must tell you about my experience at the theatre today. I went with my mother to se a show called "the murders in Aalst". I knew that it was going to be an emotional play and wow. I recommend it.
It's from the trial of a parental couple who murdered their two kids. It's based on a true story from the Netherlands. The parents murdered the kids because they didn't want them to grow up to have the same life as they themselves experienced. A really strong play played out by Axel Hennie and Ane Dahl Torp.
It's a disturbing portrait. The worst of it is still that I feel I have met these people before. In my work as a nurse I am often faced with people with the same background as the parents in this play. With realities of drug abuse, sexual abuse, violence, child abuse etc. And the actors of this play are giving so much that you can recognise it all there on stage.
It was a strong 1 hour show, that went by so fast. And at the end my eyes were brimmed with tears.

I strongly recommend this play!
