This week I have done everything right :-) 3 times workout and no times eating too much. Now I have cleaned my bunny's cage and am just relaxing until time to go to work. My working weekend. Perhaps some embroidery in the mean time.

:-( yes this week I have been a NAUT (Norwegian speaking..). Meaning of course that I have eaten way more than I should... On Tuesday I ate 6 pieces of pizza and then I ate "vafler" on Wednesday and to top it off completely I went bersherk yesterday and ate 2 "Påskeegg fra Freia", half a package of "Drage Egg" and a toffee, before I went to my sisters place and ate a huge portion of Nachos....

Apart from this obvious fallout I have been working out 2 times this week, in a few minutes going to work out for the third time.

And because I love my bunny, here is a snugglepicture for comfort :-)

Another week

Another week is over, and worked out 3 times. Today I was at the gym at 0900 again :-) It's tuff, but I feel like this is my chance. I have really got a good start now and it would be so stupid to mess it up again... I am not sure I would be able to be this comitted a second time, if I can't make it right now..

Anyway, it's working weekend again and going to work around 1500 till 2300 and again tomorrow from 0800 to 1530. So now it's relaxing a bit before getting ready. I have to clean the cages of my cute prisoners :-) before I go to work. Tomorrow my friend is picking up her loved ones again. Oh I am still jealous of her. I want to go diving in Egypt :-(

But I WILL GO soon!! No matter what :-)

I am up early and going to work out in 20 minutes time... :-) last saturday I worked out there where so many people there that I couldn't find a free running device, this time, super early... they open at 0900 and I intend to be there :-)

Visited my sister and her boyfriend yesterday in their new apartement, really fancy. Am I envious? YES! I also want a bedrom with room for a double bed... :-(

Anyways, this evening we're all going to my folks for a turkey dinner :-) YummY!!

It's still snowing and I love it. Lots of complaints from everybody with cars but I don't have one so HAHAHAHAHAH

I am babysitting a bunny and a guinea pig while my friend Anne is in Sharm El Sheik in Egypt. Fancy I want to go there too YES please! But for now beeing the babysitter is also cosy :-)

Today I worked out despite a cold that had me flat out yesterday. That means 3 times this week too. Unfortunately I can't say I have seen any results yet.. but stay in there I say to myself... sooner or later something must happen :-)

Apart from that my courses are going well and progress is good. I can now send 6 cards at a time in postcrossing and I find that Finland is definitely a strong postcrossing nation.

The olympic games has begun in vancouver and I am so pleased that I don't have channels on my tv 'cos I am already tired of hearing about the OG.

Oh finally at home and nothing more on the agenda this weekend.
Worked out 4 times this week actually, because I started a new course and it didn't fit with my original schedule :-)
I have also worked friday, saturday and sunday and then home to mum and dad for sunday dinner.... I am lucky girl :-) But right now I am tired. :-) tomorrow course again and I think maybe tomorrow night I might relax with some embroidery again.
Postcrossing is going great I can now send 6 cards at a time, so I am growing ;-) The card on the picture is a home-made one I got from The Netherlands

Time for the weekly update. Have worked out 3 times this week too and went for walks the other days. I did eat a Bounty yeasterday ans some candy, but I didn't bring it home with me... that's the deal. I can if I eat it outside, but since it's pretty freezing now it doesn't really tempt me. But yesterday I just had to.. so when I worked out today I worked out extra hard :-)

When going for my walks I have been feeding the ducks along the river. Feels good and is so fun. They are so eager to get food, think they're hungry? Anyway I feel like an old lady sosializing with ducks. KAS please moove to Drammen soooooon so I can get other PEOPLE for company :-)

It's do beautiful here in Drammen now. The river is almost completely frozen and the temperature is around -20 Celcius every day :-) And sunny for the most part :-) GREAT WINTER!

Guess what the start of this year has been exceptional.. in a workout kind of way.. from last saturday untill today I have worked out 4 times at the gym and the other days I have walked at least for 1 hour outside in the cold :-) I am so happy. I count on this becomming a habit u know.. ;-) but for something to become a habit you have to do it continuously don't you so.

New year; new effort..

Not that writing here really is much of an effort anyway... But I guess I will try to make it a bit more interressting for my 2-two readers ;-) (that's how many I think is reading my blog...)

So for starters. I got a new GADGET! Yeah! I needed (ehm..) I wanted a new mp3 player, and I didn't really want an ipoop.. but my old one was getting old... I have had it since 2005.. WOW thats a loong time in mp3 years. So after xmas I got down to it. I ended up with a Cowon s9 16GB with DAB radio and DMB (mini tv). I don't think the tv thing works in Drammen, but I guess that it may in time :-) so we'll see. I got it today and am charging it now :-) soooo exited :-)

AND I have my new year stuff too.... I need to be more active and I truly hope thet I will make it...
AND I have started on my Bunad again, I have had it on hold because the motivation wheren't quite there. But now it is and the speed is on :-)

So I have been a bit out of it lately and haven't found the time to do anything although the time has been there.. if that makes any sense... But tonight I have finally worked some more on my Bunad. And I really think I am getting the hang of it now, and that is good. Unfortunately I am not getting the hang of school in the same way. But I expect my sister to give me a word of advice tomorrow since I have invited myself to dinner.. I have also got some new furniture in my livingroom all free of charge as pictured :-) I want to thank the dead old person whos relatives didn't need what they left behind.

Real as can be

I must tell you about my experience at the theatre today. I went with my mother to se a show called "the murders in Aalst". I knew that it was going to be an emotional play and wow. I recommend it.
It's from the trial of a parental couple who murdered their two kids. It's based on a true story from the Netherlands. The parents murdered the kids because they didn't want them to grow up to have the same life as they themselves experienced. A really strong play played out by Axel Hennie and Ane Dahl Torp.
It's a disturbing portrait. The worst of it is still that I feel I have met these people before. In my work as a nurse I am often faced with people with the same background as the parents in this play. With realities of drug abuse, sexual abuse, violence, child abuse etc. And the actors of this play are giving so much that you can recognise it all there on stage.
It was a strong 1 hour show, that went by so fast. And at the end my eyes were brimmed with tears.

I strongly recommend this play!

motivation... or lack of it

As suggested in my heading, I am struggeling with my motivation. For studies that is. The master studies is quite ... boring ... at times. But hey, no complaining right... anyway I have never been good at studying in the sense that I am a really good at not going to lectures... skipping class so to speak :-)
I think I am down on motivation because of the study-papers that we're supposed to do... they're very dry and ..slow.. maybe things might become better so I'll hang in there.

I bought this book yesterday because I had read that it was funny... Knowing the original as well as I do I must say that this is BAD really bad... imagine using a books content almost to the word and then putting in zombie-fighting and ninjas... ok I laughed 2 times the rest of the time I was shaking my head in disbelief. It could have been cool but the result is terrible!

Anyway I confess I skimmed through most of it and stopped only when something new came up..

However, today I worked out again... haven't done that all summer cos I have been working and have had lots of other beautiful excuses too... today, no excuses so I just went. And it felt good :-) must do it again soon.

I am at it :-) YEAH! And so far I like the studies very much. My first week is done and it's going great :-) The other students are great too. :-) I don't even have anything negative to say about NSB or NAV! WOW!
I met my friend Nina after school on friday and we had dinner at a place called Olden I think? in Oslo, close to Youngstorget (I don't know if it's spelled that way :-) ) Sooo nice to see her again and hopefully I'll see her lots more from now on :-)
I also got some good news. My sister and her boyfriend is moving to Drammen and I'll have brand new neighbours :-) So nice :-)
Now it's Saturday night and I am sorting through this weeks papers from school.... a BIG pile already...
Pruppen is eating on my pillows and now he seems to be relatively relaxed under the table, he's also looking forward to seeing his favourite aunt and uncle lots more:-)
Tomorrow me and my folks are going to Goliaten, we still have about 15 more post to take to get a gold medal this year in Turorientering and we'll have to get them before the1st of october :-)

Back to school

So I am back to school... Today was the first day of my Master studies, and I am in good spirit. The start was promising, but as always I worry about if I am going to make it :-) and if all the others are smarter than me .. ;-) Apart from that little bit of worry I am looking forward to knowledge :-) and NOT looking forward to going back and forth Drammen-Oslo every day.
Originally I wanted to use buss because it stops close to me, but this first month at least I decided to use the train. Two reasons: 1 It has more departures, 2 I can get off at the national Theatre wich is 10 min walk from school :-) (besides the train is 10 min walk from home too) and so I put my trust in NSB.
Another funny thing that happened at the totally wrong time was of course my introduction to WoW universe... I got a free trial and off course I like it, and I don't have time for it :-) so I guess I will not continue with it after the trial... I have to study and work on my Bunad. That's more than enough :-)
So why am I writing now I should be reading already :-) Well, I have not printed any articles yet (oh I need to buy a printer, I am absolutely lost without one at home) and well I am going to read two articles that a teacher printed (she printed 3 but I read one on the train home). And I also need to practice my writing :-) so stay tuuned for updates.

Cobalt-mine safari

Today I went to Blaafarveværket in Modum to visit the Cobalt mines there. We (my folks and I) had pre-ordered tickets for a 2,5 hour safari inside the Cobalt mines. Don't do this trip if you don't like crammed spaces :-) absolutely worth doing. We went about 80 meters deep from where we began in the Clara-stoll and came out in the Ludvig Eugen-stoll. Stoll beeing a place to transport out stone...

So, update: i got into school starting the 31st of August, I got the money from NAV (after bitching a little bit) and today I've fixed my computer (meaning I've cleaned it all out and reinnstalled the operative system). What need to be fixed was the speed and since it's now running like it never has before I am rather pleased with myself. I am now warming the owen to get a Big One pizza in it, hungry now YES! Been at it with this darn pc all day, cos I first had to save all my picture files...

I also went diving on Wednesday, in Drøbak. Lovely dive :-) More of that hopefully. Unfortunately I have to send my underwater housing to the repair man cos it won't work deeper than 28 meters and it's supposed to work till 40 meters...

HELP! HILFE! HJELP!

I got in! I am a student again, oh my... I get shivers... So it's official. I got in to the Masters of clinical nursing program at Høgskolen I Oslo. And the studies start on the 31 of August. That's a short week...
I am ambivalent at some points but determined to see this through :-) So two years of studies here I come...

Yesterday I also went for a long walk in the forrest with a friend. We walked for about 3,5 hours to a place called Tverråsutsikten. It was really fresh air and not too hot so it was absolutely great.

Now I am going to work in about one hour. working all weekend but then on sunday evening I am going to our cabin at Landfalltjern for two days and I am going to do absolutely nothing but relax, go for walks in the forrest and embroidery...

After that.. who knows but no more work for a little while at least..

I am crossing fingers and toes and all I got to get into the masters degree program... I am also longing for a car searching Finn.no and calculating in my poor litle head. So I have decided, that if I do get into the masters program with sponsoring from NAV then I can buy a car :-) if I don't decide to wait and save up more money for it first. The masters is only two years so... hm this is difficult. I will also need help to buy a car, I know squat about cars... only that they're expensive and everyone I ask has a different oppinion about what car I should buy.. maybe I should just choose a colour and go for that... ;-) I like dark green and red.. :-) lol besides I really just need and want it for a couple of purposes; diving, visiting friends and easier access to the forest...

Anyway we'll soon find out the master shit stay tuned next week...

vakuum

I am in a bit of a vakuum right now I feel. Not a bad one though and one that I know will pass in a couple of weeks. I've been working a lot this summer and that is good and I love the work, but on the other hand I've missed out on a few events of my friends and that is quite sad. Anyway I am also awaiting a respons/reply to my application for a masters degree and I expect the answer to come in just another week cos the last possible date to apply is today and then averybody needs to send in their papers within the 15 th of August and then I should quite fast get an answer because the study starts on the 31st of August.
But all these things hanging on top of me makes me quite unable to work out at the gym.... :-( I just have no energy for it. But hopefully this will change when study starts and summer working ends... It must change :-) so I will make it change :-)
Unfortunately with study I probably cannot just skip off to diving holidays... but I think I have some free time at least.
I am planning on spending the week from 24th of August on my parents cabin close by, and just come to town once to feed my bunny and change on his cage.
I am expecting a wonderful peaceful time, with walks in the forrest every day :-) ah serenity :-)
So until then... vakuum and maybe some embroidery :-) my bunad shirt is comming along nicely can't wait to get the bunad itself though ooooh the excitement :-)

Today I was assisting a doctor with suturing and suddenly a spray of blood got right in my eyes and face, and all over the floor too... IIIk! LOL I washed my face and eyes emidiately (thank god I don't use make-up at work) so I am not worried about anything. But it was quite hillarious. Just a small artery that protested about beeing closed up... I got it in my hair and everything... so highligths for me LOL
The bloodspary was just like you see in the movies sometimes, a single spray going upwards and out :-) action work :-)

First a good thing.. see how far my Bunad-shirt has come allong:-)
Oh my.. I feel like my head is about to explode! I am really just not capable of making decicions... and really as I write this I know that even if i make a decicion it's not necessary to run it's course... meaning: I want to study some more, but what to study is immensly difficult to decide :-( I am a nurse and I do want to work in nurse-related jobs (I believe...) but most of the educations are based on excellent health (no prolaps then) and if not then they're based on leaderships or likevise... now I have found one education that appeals to me.. but I am so scared of making the decicion to follow that course...
Really it's of no matter because I'll probably have a lot of good of this and if I do turn out to be less smart than I thought...well I'll just have to deal with that when I come to it.. don't I?
So I think if I am accepted I will begin.. update will follow...

Oh My GOD!!!
I's done! I have finally ordered the materials for my bunad. I got the materials for the shirt with me today and the rest is due in 5 to 8 weeks...

I can't believe I've finally done it... now there is no excuse for me... embroidery the next months...

I look forward to regular updates here with pictures as the work is progressing.

The Shirt:

The shirt is a linen shirt. With emboidery on the 2 sleves, 2 shoulders, neck and a little down the front.
It's really small stiches and different teckniques. It's probably slow work.. the shirt is in 10 pieces (sorry 11 pieces actually) and after embroidery will be stiched together by machine and by hand...

So... off I go! :-) BIG SMILE!

I feel guilty for not having told ou about Hurghada yet, but other things are happening and they take my time away.
I work a lot this summer at "Legevakten" the place I have 17.6% jobb usually I have more than 100% this summer. And I love it so far.
Thing is everything else is put on hold when I work, I don't feel like I have the energy to work-out or do any embroidery and other crafswork.
But I have finally decided what kind of Bunad I want, and I am starting the process tomorrow. I'll go to Oslo for measuring, then in 5-8 weeks I'll have the material and be ready to start the project of Bunad-making. :-) look forward to updates on that part.
I had troubble deciding what bunad to make. The final choice was between Gudbrandsdalens festbunad and Målselvsbunad. My grandmother on my mothers side should have the Målselvsbunad and really that is the one I should have also because of conection.... but they only sell materials to that bunad in Målselv..... and that is far away. The Gudbrandsdalen bunad I can also have because my grandmothers family originated from there and that I can get in Oslo... so I ended up with both the one I think is most beautiful but also the one closest to me...
So going to Oslo tomorrow and hopefully seal the deal :-)

So, thing is I've lived in my current apartement since May of 2005. Every year since then (except 2008 actually..)I have arranged a summer-party here. my apartment is rather small and therefore this party can only happen in the summer when I can use the veranda as part of the appartment. Therefore it says in the invite Verandaparty- "cos there's not room enough indoors". Anywho... today is the big day. I am quite exited because I have a feeling we'll be quite a few people here tonight. I am preparing the apartment, the food and trying to stow away as much rubble as possible (I have a lot of rubble). But I think it's going to work out nicely.
I have a couple of things left to do but I want to make most of it ready long before 1800 (when it starts) I don't excpect a single person to be here right on time though... we're just not made that way here in Norway.
So hopefully a sucess I'll report and bring pictueres in a couple of days :-)

So, in a couple of hours I have to get up to go to the airport shitty early... but first I have to go to bed and possibly repack my luggage a little bit... I've managed to downsize it from 22 kg to 18 kg but I still think it's too heavy. Just in case I'll buy some shitty souvernirs in Egypt I really should take it down to 15 kg... I managed with that in Thailand in November... and that was 11 days... this is just gonna be 7 days. Anyway I really hate not beeing able to bring all I want, but considering that I have all my diving gear in the same bag as my clothes this is pretty good to start with... but I really need to take out a couple of kgs more... and I need to do it before i go to bed.. If I can make it before 0100 I can maybe get at least 2 hours of sleep... I have to get up at 0400- 0430 because I am picked up at 0500. Argh... I am not found of this shitty early stuff.
Anyway, camera is packed and hopefully I'll present some cool pics here in a week at the most, but maybe even whilst in Egypt... I think I'll bring my Acer.. but we'll see. Ok have to pack. :-) Check back later. Night!

It's final... I am weird... today at the store I overheard a customer who looked for "ordentlig Rømme" and not "lett Rømme" (this won't make sense if you're not norwegian...) and I could see from across the store that the "ordentlig rømme" was there right in front of this guys nose only it's called "seter rømme" and has a darker green on the box. And he didn't see it and just because he didn't I went and bought it myself :-) lol

Ok, movie report is as follows: I was not overly impressed. I had figured out the final twist before it was handed to me on a plate... somewhat entertaining but it failed to make me very interrested in reading the book... and Star Trek was better ;-)

Yesterday I went on a sort of field trip.. for divers.. without the water.. To see how the body responds to pressure it's possible to go to Ullevåll Hospital in Norway and enter the pressure chamber with a guide. You have to be a diver and you have to go on an organized trip but it's so worth it.
We got an hour lecture first on diving physiology and possible injuries that need treatment in a pressure chamber.
Then, as we where quite many we had two runs with the pressure chamber. I was in the second run and that means I had the pleasure of waiting an hour extra before my turn :-) But I also got to listen to the other laugh as kids in their nitrogen narcosis :-) funny.

The pressure chamber itself is located in the basement of the hospital. And is a round yellow thing with two chambers. Not room for more than 10 people total, but three in the outer chamber. The outer chamber can dive on it's own so you can bring people and equipment in and out that way.

Well, finally it was our turn. We go rather fast "down", but as we have to equalize the pressure on our ears there are limits to how fast we can go. I was a bit nervous about that, not that I have experienced a lot of trouble, but because of the wait I was getting exited and it tends to have different things happen... :-)
Anyways it went to 3 meters and I needed a little break because it took a moment for my ears to equalize but after that it was a smooth ride "down" to 60,6 meters. I had to equalize almost the whole way down though.
When you dive in water you never go down that fast. But the pressure chamber is safe ... you can't really drown there. Actually the biggest risk is fire. Because on the way up we breathe pure 100% O2 on masks from 12 meters and up but there are sometimes leaks. Beacause of this danger we,re not allowed to wear synthetic materials in there and no metal or anything that might ignite or make sparks. We had our diving computers with us. But they where immersed in water buckets (actually the water is there to put out any fire that might arise. Imagine, if fire starts you cannot just open the chamber og go up fast as you would then possibly injure everyone in the chamber so they would die anyway.
Who said recreational diving?! This is serious stuff :-)

On 60 meters we all where laughing and speaking with Ivo Caprino voices that was the funny part... and it was so hot because of the fast descent the chamber generates heat and we where all sweating. The air was so thick you could almost touch it :-)
And on the way up it almost rained because of condentz.
Some of us also decided this was the best time to sing "We all live in a yellow submarine" (get it? the pressure chamber being yellow and all...).

The way up is cold and boring. When you have been that deep you need to take your time getting up again. So we had five minutes breakes from 18 meter, 15, 12, 9, 6 meters. And as said before we where breathing pure O2 and wearing really Kaizers Orchestra looking masks... this off course mean also that from 15 meters you cannot talk to one another.. it's just not possible to hear what the others are saying. A really boring 25 minutes.. :-(

And then whey out again :-)

A fun ride and worth the 730NOK it cost each and every one of us :-)

Acer, work, jobs and sun

Acer-because I bought an Acer Aspire One and is currently blogging from it. Actually my sister sent me a tip about it beeing on sale and I couldn't resist. It's saphire blue (or just blue..) and small and great and and and and super to sit in the sun with on my veranda and surf.

Work- because I have worked 3 days this week and love it. ehr...worked is maybe a bit of an overstatement, but I got paid. Thing is the work is mostly beeing helpful and soscial with elderly people at a day-center..

Jobs-because I diden't get the job I thought I wanted but didn't want after all, so figured out a way not to accept the offer but twist it so I didn't really say no but only later.. and today I was told I didn't get it after all.. YAy happy :-) My sister said I had to take it and she is probably right... but I wanted more to work at my other place.

Sun- because I love that the summer is on the way and that it is sunny and warm a lot of the time. The picure is my veranda where I will have a summer party with friends in June :-) I look forward to that too :-)

:-) Yezzz tomorrow I have a job interview with a medical center in my home-town. The position is a 70-80 % one which would be superb to combine with my other 17,6% job ;-) It's also a day-job and that is even better! And they close on holidays! Oh my I hope I get it...

But that's not till 5pm tomorrow. i have a course in AHLR or ACPR tomorrow from 2:30 till 4:30 pm. So hopefully I'll not be too worn out in my interview.

I am really into Yeah Yeah Yeahs last album now... listening to it every day, which is stupid since I'll probably tire of it pretty soon.. but I can't stop.

i am hoping there'll be some diving soon, will have to call my friend and check it out. It should be a bit warmer in the water now.. maybe between 8-10 degrees celcius, not to bad that. Maybe even above 10.. that would be luxury!! :-)

As you might remember I ordered two CDs on the internet based solely on dice throws in the newspapers. Well I got these yesterday and have now listened through one of them more than once and the other almost once...

The two in Question is Yeah Yeah Yeahs "It's blitz" and Sarke "Voruna"(i think) ;-)

Anyway Yeah Yeah Yeahs is right up my alley! Great cd! Recomendable! I guess I have a weird taste sometimes though so for those of you out there who are more mainstream I recommend listening to a song or two before you by it.
Ah! Who am I kidding I have two readers I think. So if you want, listen to my copy first ;-)

I also bought Grease 2, just because it costed me 10 NOK :-) I have seen it before, but it sucks more now than before, and not just because thay cannot sing... but because the songs are TERRIBLE. The lyricks should be burned!

Yesterday I ordered two CDs online... without having heard any of the songs, knowing practically nothing about the artists. I relied solely on dice-throws online... so this will be interessting.

Since last time, I have a job yeah :-) it's a 17,6 % part-time job as a nurse in casualty clinic here in my hometown. I've just started working there and I love it!! So many different reasons for people to need emergency care. And it's a challenging and rewarding workplace. Great people to work with and close to home. What more can one ask for ... besides the obvious which would be 100% full time job.. :-)

Finally! After sweating through NAV's idea of a good way to spend time one whole week, it's finally Saturday! The idea of putting a whole lot of strangers with absolutely nothing in common regards to education, motivation, reasons and goals together to learn how to apply for jobs, is an idea I am absolutely and completely unable to understand.
I admit I spent more time as a teacher on Friday than a "student". As for the rest of the week, I am happy to say I am unable to shut up when I do not agree... so I guess, and hope, they think I am a pain in the ass.

I have had a cold this week and was unable to work out on Wednesday, but I am soooo proud of myself because I worked out on Monday and Thursday still. And I am going to go work out in another hour (I have to wait cos I had breakfast ). so project Moov is going quite well.

Yesterday I had my parents help me with supplies to my bunny. so he should be happy now and I think he is. Even though his "mother" has been gone more than usual this week.

The rest of today is going to be spent doing some emboidery. i am working on a lovely tablecloth (for myself), and maybe going for a walk... but that depends... after working out I may have other plans.

And last I have to congratulate my friend in Oslo. N got news yesterday, she was offered a new job after an interview and of coursed accepded :-) I wish her the best and hope I'll have as much luck on Tuesday :-)

But sweat, definitely! Today I went to an aerobics class for the first time in years (a lot of years). Unbelieveably I did not die from it. Unfortunately that means I must do it again ;-) I decided today that I had no more excuses not to work out and have signed on with a training facility called Moov. I am pretty impressed. Brand new location, and just 5 minutes to walk from my home. Can it be more excellent :-)

But what made me ANGRY was this article from VG. I am a nurse god dammit and I want a job. They complain about not having any and cares less about taking care of those they got.
Argh!

Beautiful!
No other word can describe it. Today I went skiing to our cabin with my daddy. We went there to remove the snow from the roofs of cabin and sheds. There is unusually much snow this winter here. Almost like when I was young. I love it. The sun is out almost every day now, and it's perfect for skiing.

We also jumped from the roofs when finished. There's so much snow that there is no danger of injury there. We saw a lot of birds to and that's also nice.

Oh my GOD! I think I must be stupid... I decided early this morning to redecorate my apartment. BAD F..ING IDEA!

Turns out that after spending the whole day transporting furniture around, snezing from all the dust bunnies and making a bad back worse I ended up with all the furniture back to where it was xcept ONE bookshelf that I changed place with a small dresser. I had to take out all my books of course to be able to move my shelves, and now I am still stuck with tidying up this huge MESS I have made... Figures! Just MY luck!

Thing is, I don't really have room for everyting in the first place, so when I eventually finish cleaning up it'll probably look like I haven't done a thing...

The last few days i have read in several Norwegian newspapers that a school in USA is banning Åsne Seierstad's book The Bookseller of Kabul because of alleged pornographic material. I found this mildly interesting and decided to read the book. I've had it in my bookshelf for a looooong time and not found it in me to read it, but that did the trick ;-)

So I did read it. And I think it is boring, but pornographic? No! Seriously! Somebody needs a crash course in porn...

Kon Tiki and Noam Kortler

Today me and my mum went to Oslo and the Kon Tiki museum to check out the opening of Noam Kortler's Underwater photos exhibition.

I had to drive since mum is not particularly found of driving to new places where she doesn't know where to go, or in Oslo in general. it took about 20 minutes only to drive in, cos the traffic was close to non excistent this early on a sunday. We where there at 10:25 am and the museum opens at 10:30. The presentation by Noam Kortler wasn't supposed to start till 13:00 but we wanted to check out the museum as well.

If you don't know what the Kon Tiki museum is I advise you to check out their web-page. But in short I'd say it's a tribute to Thor Heyerdahl and his work with the expeditions Tigris, Ra 1 and 2, Kon Tiki and Easter Islands. I digg it.

The museum isn't very big though but since there are 3 museums there we also went to the Norwegian Maritime museum. I haven't been there since I was a little girl but I still remembered the place when I saw it. There was a new exhibition there too about boat fugetives all over the world, including information on the Tampa affair. So pretty pleased we went to hear Noam Kortler.

In short (cos it was short) he told us how long he had to wait for each shot to be as good as the once we saw. Sometimes waiting for two hours at the same place on the ocean floor to get the perfect shot. And sometimes to the same place 4-5 times. hard work. He also explained what we saw in a couple of photos. Geir Børresen was there also and introduced him, seems they're long time friends.
The pictures where great though! I loved them. But then again he has been awarded for a few of them so they ought to be good.

The exhibition is on all of February, go knock yourself out :-)

Rejected

Today I was rejected... I got a wonderful and kind email, telling me that a job I applied for in November has been taken by someone else but me. It never really came as a surprise, but even so these emails are crap.
It's not as if I wanted that job... but I probably could have managed just as well as any other moron they hired. Bah!

Work should be FUN! Not NECESSARY!

I solemnly promise that if i ever find a FUN job I will do all in my power to snatch it in front of someone like me.

Ah! This ruined my good feelings from being a darling grandchild yesterday.

I have discovered today a new way to feel good about myself. My poor old grandmother who is 85 years old and usually very fit for her age has been presented (I forgot how to spell catch in the right grammarish sort of way) with pneumonia. This presenting an excellent opportunity to be the good grandchild, sort of angelic won't you say ;-)
Well I did my deed of a house cleaning and true enough she was ever so grateful :-) I must admit that this probably would not have been as nice if she had not also been a very nice old lady. Despite her age she has quite a few things to talk about. And the gratitude of an old lady is to be valued.
Of course she made me dinner and gave me a little cash for my troubles but that's grannies for you :-)
I think I would like to become an old lady myself one day if I can keep my wits about me, and be reasonably fit... I mean it's not as if I have a choice. Old I definitely will become. It's the manner of it that's sometimes frightening.
I have a sort of plan that if I do become useless and witless I hope my friends are still capable of strapping me into my diving gear and throw me overboard... I think dying of oxygen intox in a state of nitrogen narcosis in the wast black depths of the ocean must be something, at least compared with withering away at a nursing home being fed throug a tube and gulping down enormous amounts of pills and beeing treated with indifference from uneducated assistants of healthcare. And I do speak of experience, having worked with various excamples of that speices of assistants during my very early years of working at nursing homes during summer holidays.
I don't mind working at such homes, because I can then treat people better, and with as much respect as I would like myself. But I would not like to be a resident.. at that point I assure you all hope of influence in your own treatment is gone away as quickly as your close family loose interest.
I am absolutely pro euthanasia, at least unto myself. I don't think I would much like helping someone else to end their life. And it should always be grand. I meant what's the point of ending your own life with a dose of some drug in the vein.
At least throw yourself out of a plane without a parachute, or yell loudly in a crowded space of USA with plenty police officers in place that "I have a bomb, and I intend to use it!". Go out with a bang, so to speak.
Ah well hopefully I wont have to decide my course of action for years to come, although a Facebook quiz told me I have only 36 years left to live.

Oh the night.. I have good news. I have actually found a job online and sent my resume and application this very moment... It seems one can actually turn the world of night and day upside down and still be able to apply for jobs. Oh thank all the mighty Gods of the WWW.
So this night have been good to me and now I will go to bed and try to sleep, after all I will awake (if I am able to sleep) with a clear consience and feeling good about myself for having applied for a job I might actually like if I get it. So stay tuned for more exciting news from life and from bubbles.

Off the shore

I dislike sleeping at night. I like to be awake when most people are sound asleep. However, I do not like it now. I confess. I have made night into my day and that is very tiresome when I should be awake in the day to look for a job.
Yes, sadly I am out of a job at the moment and I am so tired of doing nothing. There is a limit to how many books I care to read, or movies I may watch, before I might just turn MAD again. I have an unending list of what I should do with all this time when others are working. Naming a few, I should have read up on my nursing skills, ate less, exercise more, become a better person.... The truth is that this is all to tiresome to do. The less I do daily the less energy I have to put to good use.
So to be perfectly honest this blog is yet another way to postpone doing anything that truly matters. And maybe, just maybe, I may find it in myself to see the truth of it through my own words. To kick oneself in the butt is after all a rather difficult matter.
So bear with me. This might turn out to be a once in a lifetime blog posting... or it might become something more. I do not know.
